The service offered by the “Etna cable car” departs from the southern side of Etna, (Nicolosi side).
The departure station of the cable car is at an altitude of 1,923 meters above sea level (Nicolosi Etna Sud – Piazzale Rifugio Sapienza).
On board a cable car you can reach an altitude of 2,500 meters above sea level in several minutes, along a very scenic route, which shows from above a multitude of craters that are no longer active.
At the arrival of the cable car you will find yourself at the Refuge (La Montagnola) with a panoramic terrace, where you can have lunch offered, and make various tastings and purchases of typical products.
From the refuge at an altitude of 2,500 meters above sea level, continue with special 4×4 off-road buses, or if the snow permits, with snowcats, up to the maximum achievable altitude allowed by the competent authorities, only and exclusively under the control of authorized guides by express ordinance of the municipality of Nicolosi, but which still allows you to reach, as a site of interest, a wonderful belvedere, Mount Etna and the sea. Therefore, in compliance with the regulations in force in total safety.
